UN Women proposes to consider innovative ways to advance gender equality and the empowerment of women, particularly in the following areas: social protection systems, access to public services, and the construction of sustainable infrastructure.
Echoing the priority theme of the 63rd Commission on the Status of Women (CSW63), International Women’s Day 2019 addresses industry leaders, game-changing startups, social entrepreneurs, all those advocating for gender equality, as well as innovative women. It aims to explore how innovation can help eliminate barriers and accelerate progress towards gender equality, encourage investments in gender-sensitive social systems, and build services and infrastructure that meet the needs of women and girls.
