After the old Gare du Sud was transformed into a vibrant place with the Raoul Mille Library and the Halle Gourmande, it is now the turn of the Gare Thiers to undergo renovations and complete the restoration work that began with the railway services and the forecourt.
Intended to become a new destination for locals and tourists between the station and avenue Jean Médecin, combining tram and train services, “ICONIC!” is part of a comprehensive strategy to reclaim the Notre-Dame district to the south and revitalise the Libération district to the north.
It will serve as a focal point and invigorate the upper part of avenue Jean Médecin, contributing to the redevelopment of the station district.
This project, whose construction is progressing as seen during visits by Christian Estrosi, real estate developers, and architect Daniel Libeskind, who designed the project, will be operational in 2021.
