More than fifty young people from Nice participated last night in the third stage of the youth listening campaign “Influence your city” launched last April by the City Hall. Six measures have been taken for those aged 15-25.
Employment:
Coaching will be available for those who wish to prepare for a job interview. Then, apprenticeship opportunities will be expanded by welcoming 150 apprentices into the municipal administration. Additionally, “matches for employment” events will be organized, allowing young people to “give themselves a chance to access training or employment.” Finally, the second chance school will complement this employment aid, with its opening planned for the first half of 2019.
Health:
“Hospital without walls” days will be organized with doctors to provide prevention, screening, and free consultations throughout the city.
Driver’s License:
Because “obtaining a driver’s license is a discriminatory factor,” Christian Estrosi has decided to cover all or part of the costs for young people looking for a job. In exchange, they will need to engage in a period of civic service.
Housing:
A unit will be created to assist young people in finding a place to live. Additionally, 50 housing units for young workers will be built on rue de Belgique, starting in 2020.
Transport:
The city aims to implement a flat rate of 145 euros per year for those aged 19-25. “An 80-euro saving for students.” It will also equip the Noctambus with 4G cameras connected to the CSU “to feel better protected.”
Digital:
Wi-Fi will be available in trams and parks, like the Promenade du Paillon. Additionally, an application will be launched in the fall of 2019 for those aged 15-25, allowing them to benefit from preferential rates in municipal structures and private partners.
