The Toquissimes: Great Chefs in University Canteens

Latest News

On Tuesday, December 13, 2011, the 3rd gourmet meeting of the university year for “Les Toquissimes” will take place, featuring the pastry chef Pascal Lac.

In addition to creating desserts with the theme “The cherry on the cake,” Pascal Lac will give a cooking class to the four students who won the “A vous la toque!” contest.

The CROUS of Nice-Toulon and the Recette Magique are continuing their collaboration, which began in 2008, to introduce gastronomy to students in university dining halls. Pascal Lac, a pastry chef and creator of Lac pastries in Nice, has created the two desserts that the university dining hall teams will prepare on that day. This marks the third collaboration between Pascal Lac and CROUS for Les Toquissimes!

The gourmet lunch (starter, main course, dessert) is offered to students at the price of 3.05 euros, which is the cost of a student meal ticket. By responding now to an online questionnaire, students have the opportunity to win a pastry class on December 13, 2011, with Pascal Lac at the Nice center university dining hall.

This initiative is interesting because it allows students to experience haute cuisine at a very reasonable price. However, if students do not cook often, it is not due to a lack of culinary education or time, but due to a lack of money. This is therefore an essential point highlighted by this event.
