The prefect of the Alpes-Maritimes issued an order on July 4th to requisition a piece of land belonging to the departmental council, in the town of Gilette, to address the arrival of caravans of travelers starting Sunday, July 9, 2017.
This requisition will prevent an illegal settlement that could cause significant disturbances to public order. The Nice Côte d’Azur Metropolis has also been requisitioned to carry out the necessary development work.
