It is the opposition municipal and metropolitan councilor Patrick Allemand who is raising the alarm:
I have just written to the mayor of Nice (copy attached) because unlike what is happening in most large European cities, it seems that Nice has not planned anything to celebrate the 60th anniversary of the Treaty of Rome, the founding document of what is today the European Union.
This is all the more regrettable because the city of Nice itself gave its name to a treaty, the Treaty of Nice in 2001.
