Villeneuve-Loubet presents its Truffle Market, which will take place this Sunday, January 22. An event for all truffle lovers who will be able to enjoy it this weekend.
An unmissable event for all the gourmets of Villeneuve-Loubet and its surroundings. The Truffle Market promises us numerous activities to honor this rare mushroom, highly renowned in the gastronomic world. For this festive day, you will have the opportunity to attend many diverse activities, highlighting local products. You will be able to taste and purchase delicious local artisanal products: wine, oil, foie gras, cheese, charcuterie, jam, honey, and other regional delicacies.
The truffle is a typical product of our region, with truffle growers currently overseeing an area of 200 hectares. The Truffle Growers’ Union of the Alpes-Maritimes aims to expand this cultivation to 500 hectares in the coming years. Therefore, we are sharing here the program for this promising gastronomic day:
- 09:00: Opening of the truffle market
- 10:30: Culinary demonstration of a truffle-based recipe
- From 10:30 to 13:30: Musical entertainment with “Mister Moon”
- 12:30: Truffle dog demonstration
- 14:00: Conference on truffles by Michel SANTINELLI, President of the Truffle Growers’ Union of the Alpes-Maritimes (Donon room)
- 16:00: Truffle dog demonstration
- 17:00: End of the event
Throughout the day:
- Truffle growers’ stalls: Tuber Melanosporum guaranteed by the union of truffle producers of the Alpes-Maritimes
- Large market of local products: wine, oil, honey, charcuterie, foie gras, jam… and other gourmet delights from our region
- Throughout the day a microphone host will announce the important moments of the day as well as the products from the stalls
- Quiz about truffles with a gift basket to win
