The famous 145-kilometer race taking place this Friday saw its record broken in the previous edition. A time of 25 hours for the men that all the competitors wish to improve more than anything. Some favorites already seem to stand out to win the race and perhaps set a new record.
It will undoubtedly be hard to break. But the record set in 2016 by Christophe Anselmo and Garry Imobersteg, who both crossed the finish line hand in hand, remains a true goal for the contenders for victory. Among them are some well-known names in the discipline. Pierre Saucy, who finished 5th in the previous edition, is the real favorite for the event. Another strong competitor, Gilles Frediani (7th last year) will also have a very good chance.
Among the women, Elodie Lafay is the announced favorite. Her second-place finish in the 2016 Ultra-Trail did not go unnoticed. Everyone knows she will be a contender to watch out for in this new edition. The question remains whether she can break the women’s record of 32 hours, 10 minutes, and 14 seconds, held by Sandra Planel.
