This Friday, August 25, marks the start of the highly anticipated Azurean Ultra-Trail. A journey of over 145 km that promises to be hell even for the most trained athletes. Not all runners aim to complete the entire course. In total, 5 events will be offered as options.
The Ultra-Trail is undoubtedly the flagship event of this weekend on August 25. The 145 km race will see extremely well-trained athletes competing with great courage. With over 10,000 m of elevation gain in total, the course will undoubtedly be a torture for all participants. The start will take place from Aire St Michel in Nice, in the presence of Eric Ciotti, at 5 p.m. The finish will be in Saint-Martin Vésubie.
But this is not the only race on the program for this event. Four other shorter events are offered, allowing the less experienced to try their luck:
– The 70 km: 5,000 m of D+/D- at the gates of the Mercantour National Park with the peak being Mont Pépoiri at 2,674 m.
– The 45 km: 3,100 m of D+/D- with the peak being Mont Archas at 2,526 m altitude.
– The 25 km: Discovery trail with 1,400 m of D+/D- and the summit of Caïre Gros at 2,087 m altitude as the highest point.
– 12 km La Vésubienne: with 800 m of D+/D-, the event honors women. Three successive starts: one reserved for women, one open to all, and one for Nordic walking and hiking.
