In fact, Christophe Anselmo and Swiss competitor Gary Imobersteg chose to cross the finish line hand in hand after 25 hours of effort.
The fatigue, the sufferings, the intense moments, the lows, and the 10,000m of positive elevation gain were forgotten. This finish will be remembered as a great moment of sharing after a very long sporting event.
Benoit Outters ranked 3rd in this Ultra Trail Côte d’Azur Mercantour, about thirty minutes behind the winning duo.
He had been the winner in 2015 with a time of 26 hours.
The last finisher took 49h 06m 22s; he too is a winner because he claimed the most beautiful trophy: reaching the end!
