The UMP selects candidates for the 2015 local elections. Michèle Tabarot leaves the meeting.

In the wake of its ally party UDI, the UMP has also officially announced a large part of the team that will present itself to voters next March during the cantonal elections.

departementales_2015.jpg The mixed duos are starting to take shape. Mayors from the main towns in the department, held by the right-wing, have locked down the candidacies in order to favor loyal councilors and municipal deputies. In Nice, 13 elected members of the municipal majority will double their communal duties.

Many new municipal elected officials will try to seat for the first time in the assembly on Boulevard du Mercantour. Only 16 among them will, if elected, be repeat participants.

They will reunite with the foremost among them, Eric Ciotti, who, thanks to the withdrawal of Doctor Alain Frère, will be elected without the slightest concern in the canton of Tourrette-Levens, before resuming his position as Departmental President.

There are still a few decisions to be made to complete the list which, according to party executives, has been unanimously approved except… by the “copeist” and mayor of Le Cannet, Michèle Tabarot, who is known for her poor relations with the Estrosi-Ciotti tandem, and who, dissatisfied with the treatment given to her supporters, walked out of the meeting.

Unfortunately for her, it’s well known that absentees are always in the wrong…
