The UN Migration Pact, a text causing panic
The UN Migration Pact, signed this Monday in Marrakech, which is not very ambitious, is generating a wave of panic in Europe.
The Global Compact for Safe, Orderly, and Regular Migration was approved in July by 193 UN members, except for the United States, which withdrew from the agreement last year.
This pact was developed as Europe witnessed the largest influx of migrants since World War II, many fleeing conflicts and poverty in the Middle East, Africa, and beyond.
Its critics argue that it makes no distinction between legal and illegal immigration.

“The country that signs the pact is necessarily signing a pact with the devil,” commented Marine Le Pen.
“The Migration Pact is dead even before being signed,” declared Steve Bannon on the stage of the Flemish parliament, before expressing his satisfaction in having leaders like Donald Trump, Marine Le Pen, or Viktor Orbán “who dare to say they do not want this pact.”
For several months, the American has been trying to gather populist forces across Europe. This summer, he announced that he was setting up a foundation in Europe called The Movement, with which he hopes to lead a right-wing populist revolt across the continent, starting with the upcoming European elections in May.
