4,000 children are expected to participate in scientific workshops and discover the various facets of science and technology.

This large-scale event is intended to disseminate scientific culture and inspire children to have a passion for science; more than 130 kindergarten and elementary classes are expected to attend throughout the week.

How do you find out? You try… This is the motto of the 120 workshops organized with an investigative approach over the 5 days, partly conducted by the children and partly by the undergraduate students of the science faculty; 15 European Erasmus students from Malta, Greece, Switzerland, and Belgium will also participate in these activities.

This European Science Garden is part of an intensive Erasmus program, which recognizes the quality and innovative educational nature of the project.

Each workshop lasts an average of 30 minutes and hosts 6-8 children to allow everyone to experiment (air, electricity, materials, colors, etc.). The elementary school students will have prepared the experiments in class with their teacher and will present them to the other students at the science garden.

The students will host workshops combining science and literature, with the starting point of the investigation possibly being an excerpt from a science fiction book: “How do you know if what is written is possible? You try!”

Didier Cottier, a visual artist inspired by science fiction, will accompany the event with an exhibition of his works (from June 10 to 25 in the backdrop of the Grand Chรขteau) and will lead an artistic workshop for the children.
