The UPE 06 and Pôle emploi together to secure career paths

The Union for Business and Pôle Emploi are meeting this Wednesday, June 21, to review the progress of the agreement signed on March 25, 2016. This agreement enhances the exchange of information. The sole objective: to increase the effectiveness of their actions while meeting the recruitment needs of companies in digital, tourism, hospitality, and catering sectors.

This agreement allows for the mobilization of appropriate mechanisms for job access through training and professionalization of future job seekers. It also enables tracking of their professional journey.

The momentum started in 2000, with the now-defunct ANPE and ASSEDIC being partners from the very first days. A partnership was initiated then. Today, we say that within the security group, there are 16 Octas participating alongside us. Initially, the security pathway group was comprised of ANPE, ASSEDIC, and the labor department.

We have more legitimacy with the 2 interprofessional Octas. Pôle Emploi has often been a driving force in evolving this working group. Patricia was handling everything related to job preparation at ASSEDIC.

This is not the work of a single organization or actor. The first job we tackled was a partnership in the digital group—a challenging field because it requires bringing together several actors.

We tried initially to ask ourselves: “what type of positions, what skills should we find for job seekers in this sector to either leverage professional experience or training?”

That’s how we made a diagnosis. As a result, we were able to set up training for everything related to programming languages like Java, J2E, allowing job seekers with a basic education to enhance it to meet the fundamental needs of companies.

This initiative was so effective that these individuals were hired. To achieve this, we organized “job-eating” sessions facilitated by companies. We mobilized companies to discuss their professions and present the evolutions within these fields.

That’s how this sense of “togetherness” was fostered. It’s a process that involves a diagnosis… We’ve organized an e-forum, an e-salon. Whatever could facilitate matching supply and demand, allowing companies and job seekers to express themselves.

Temporary work can be a solution. Job seekers don’t often consider it, yet… Efforts were made to persuade job seekers to participate in this workshop.

Our shared role is in relation to training projects that address company needs by mobilizing the diverse resources of common law, right?

To create operations, two things are necessary: implementing training mechanisms and finding the right trainings. Then the question arises, “Is this going to lead to jobs?” the answer is “yes,” and then how to finance these courses?

We are involved in the Hepades of the merchant sector. It’s true that we haven’t done much for the past year, but just to showcase the puissance of the security pathway group—in a situation where the octa of social partners decided not to finance the full professionalization pathway to train medical-psychological aides. By exception, as it was the Alpes Maritimes’ pathway security group, they agreed to fund the entire pathway for one more year.

Then, the following year again by exception, even when they lacked the necessary pre-training mechanisms, they agreed to fund 400 hours of training with job offers. It’s to illustrate that we are in an experimental territory.

I too would like to thank all the partners, the Octas, meaning the social partners (employers and unions). This partnership only works thanks to a common will to collaborate. Ditto with the Octas. I can tell you that other departments envy us. I’ve even been invited by our friends in Corsica from Pôle Emploi to lead meetings on the highlighting of a specific dynamic we have in Alpes Maritimes.

Once again, it’s a common will to collaborate. It only works because we face partners willing to collaborate.
