The UPE06 General Assembly 2018: Hope and Vigilance

Latest News

The Annual General Assembly of UPE06 was held in the presence of the members of the UPE06 Board of Directors and members. It was an opportunity for Philippe Renaudi to present the UPE06’s activity report for 2017, as well as the outlook for 2018:

2017, an intense year for the Union for Enterprise of the Alpes-Maritimes.

With more than 8,500 member companies representing over 115,000 employees, the Employers’ Organization worked tirelessly in 2017 to defend the Riviera companies through proposing and lobbying efforts both locally and nationally, aiming to influence the legislation and particularly the reform of the Labor Code introduced by ordinances in 2017. This reform revisits negotiation within the company, organizes social dialogue, sustains employment contracts, and introduces new dismissal rules. It’s also work with local administrations when companies face difficulties;

  •    to promote entrepreneurship and the entrepreneurial spirit mainly through organizing the ENTREPRENARIALES, a major trade fair for Riviera companies and the signing of numerous partnerships;

  •    to ensure the representation of business leaders in numerous bodies, with nearly 700 mandates (CCI Nice Côte d’Azur, Commercial Courts, Labor Court, Employment Office, AMETRA06, etc.);

  •    to act in favor of the development of the Alpes-Maritimes through regular consultation with the Prefect of Alpes-Maritimes, as well as with local political bodies, through events like the TERRITORIAL ECONOMIC MEETINGS (4 in 2017). It also includes new initiatives in the fields of Health and the sports economy, with particular emphasis on digital;

  • finally, to give the company a major role in training with actions in favor of apprenticeships and the strengthening of ties with the University Côte d'Azur, the Rectorate, and the major Schools.

2018: several bills in progress, among the forty or so texts planned for this year, should open new perspectives for our companies. This involves the Growth and Transformation Action Plan for Enterprises as well as the reform of apprenticeship and professional training.

Reducing public spending, simplifying our legislative environment, redefining the role of the company, participation and profit-sharing, gender equality in the workplace, and lastly, local taxation are as many projects that remain underway and which must mobilize us if we, employees and business leaders, want to make our businesses succeed together.
