The urban community of the French Riviera is hiring engineers for the development of its valleys.

Latest News

Last Thursday, the community council unanimously voted to recruit engineers to develop regional projects for its valleys and to assist farmers.

The French Riviera Agglomeration Community (CARF) is among the 32 winners of the mountain engineering plan. In practice, this means that eleven municipalities will benefit from this national investment plan worth 650 million euros. These eleven municipalities are Tende, Sainte-Agnès, Sospel, Castellar, Castillon, Fontan, Gorbio, Breil-sur-Roya, La Brigue, Saorge, and Moulinet.

The mountain engineering plan will notably allow the CARF to recruit a project manager to support the implementation and monitoring of the tourism development project. Funding of 60,000 euros per year will be granted for a period of two years.

This project manager position will be doubled: since the CARF is part of the valley areas scheme for the period 2021-2027, it will request a grant from the national land-use planning and development fund to recruit a tourism engineer. This position could be funded by the state up to 40%, for a maximum of 3 years, and up to a limit of 20,000 euros per year.

After also voting unanimously at the community council to allocate 50,000 euros to the competition fund intended to support disaster-stricken businesses and revitalize the economies of valleys affected by Storm Alex, it seems that the CARF is pulling out all the stops to revitalize its valleys.
