The Vallon des bergers became Valberg.

Latest News

Founded in the early 1930s, the Valberg ski resort was previously just a “pasture area,” the “Valloun des Bergians” or “Shepherds’ Valley,” known as “the Quarter.”

It was Dr. Agneli, the mayor of Guillaumes, the chief town, and General Councilor of the Canton who realized between 1931 and 1935 the potential benefits of developing a winter sports resort in the Quarter for a mountain region with a very rural character, on the territory of Péone, one of the poorest communes in the Canton.

The name Valberg, chosen at the same time, naturally evokes the alliance of the valleys and the mountain.

It is an authentic mountain village that retains the traditional charm of typical houses and farms, combined with the development of a ski resort.

It is at an altitude of 1700m, at the top of a pass, at the gateway to the Mercantour National Park, which offers a breathtaking view of the mountain ranges of the Argentera, St Honorat, and Mont Mounier.

You can naturally enjoy great skiing there! 90 km of slopes, 23 ski lifts, alpine skiing, snowboarding, cross-country skiing, and guaranteed snow coverage thanks to 450 snowmakers.

An additional advantage characterizes Valberg: the coast is only 1h15 away! This sea/mountain proximity offers ideal conditions for tourism in all seasons!
