Organized by the Departmental Committee of the French Federation of Mountaineering and Climbing, the 8th edition of the Departmental Vertical Days focuses on highlighting the activities present in the mid and highlands.
Throughout the weekend, many free activities supervised by federal and professional instructors will be offered.*
Join the Departmental Vertical Days on June 6 and 7, 2015.
A 100% free event for families in partnership with the Departmental Committee of Mountaineering and Climbing. Vertical Days is a sport-nature event that allows the public to discover outdoor activities in the mid and highlands.
Five iconic sites host the many planned activities: โ Col de La Colmiane; โ Guy Dufour Climbing Site; โ Mountain High School; โ Le Borรฉon; โ Saint-Martin-Vรฉsubie.
Whether they are seasoned climbers, nature sports enthusiasts, or young adventure seekers, many people from the Riviera consider the mountains, a major element of our territory, to be the place of renewed discovery, a freedom to be conquered, a pleasure of escape, or self-surpassing.
Building on the success of previous editions, the Departmental Committee of the French Federation of Mountaineering and Climbing invites you to the 8th “Vertical Days.”
In the Val de Blore, at La Colmiane and La Bolline, in Haute-Vรฉsubie, at Le Borรฉon and Saint-Martin-Vรฉsubie or at the Dufour cliffs. I wish to thank the organizers for their commitment and availability. I commend their efforts to share their vision of the mountains with the department’s residents and tourists through various workshops, conferences, visits, and to offer them the opportunity to partake in activities such as climbing, paragliding, hang gliding, summer sledding, via ferrata, or first aid.
One of the highlights of this weekend for children and their families will undoubtedly be the finale of the “Departmental Youth Climbing Challenge Patrick Berhault.” Their thoughts turn to the great alpinist and to Hervรฉ Gourdel, a mountain guide familiar with our peaks, who passed on their passion for the mountains to these budding young climbers.
I hope these new “Vertical Days” will provide all participants an opportunity to spend pleasant moments with family or friends, discover numerous activities, and give their best.
