During the session on October 18, 2018, the municipal majority voted on a proposal to sell Villa Paradiso, located in Bas-Cimiez, the former headquarters of the Regional Music Conservatory and currently used by municipal offices.
This decision was part of the “dynamic management of real estate assets,” explained First Deputy Philippe Pradal in response to criticisms from the opposition, particularly from Patrick Allemand (DvG).
The estimated price of the property was indicated to be approximately 7 million.
Although defeated by the vote, but persistent, Patrick Allemand sent a letter (January 29, 2019) to the DRAC (Regional Directorate of Cultural Affairs) requesting the initiation of a file for the classification of Villa Paradiso, citing its architectural and historical significance to the city.
Apparently, he was heard: after a visit by a technical delegation to assess the heritage interest of the villa, the DRAC announced that the file would be submitted to the permanent delegation of the Regional Commission for Heritage and Architecture, likely in October 2019.
