The Viva! list requests an independent audit on the condition of schools in Nice.

The municipal list “Viva!”, led by Mireille Damiano, prioritizes democracy, ecology, and solidarity for Nice, and has begun organizing popular assemblies in the city’s neighborhoods. From the first popular assembly in the Saint-Roch neighborhood, the primary theme that emerged was the state of disrepair in several schools.

Cracked walls, damaged roofs, water infiltration, poor condition of playgrounds and rainwater drainage systems, defective windows or doors, issues with insulation, classroom temperatures, unusable toilets, overly noisy cafeterias, etc. The list is long. Daily life in Nice’s schools is difficult and unequal depending on the neighborhood.

Despite repeated requests from parents and teachers during school councils, and despite the commitment and professionalism of the entire educational community, the problems are real and unresolved. The municipal response is inadequate. Budgets are insufficient and major works, although recognized as necessary, are constantly postponed.

The “Viva!” list demands:

1. An independent audit of the state of schools in Nice and transparency on the conclusions of this audit.
2. The prompt execution of the necessary works to ensure good study and working conditions for students and staff.
