Every region has its festival. The Vieilles Charrues in Brittany, the Eurockéennes in Belford, and now it’s the turn of Voix du Gaou in Var. Created in 1997, this event has proven its caliber for over 10 years. Organized on the Gaou peninsula, south of Six-Four, this event matches the standards of similar ones. The scheduled artists are of high quality, as each time, it features national and international musicians performing on the stages of Gaou. The location is also a success, offering a series of concerts in nature, nestled between the sea and mountains.
Each year, the festival attracts thousands of spectators, over 35,000 in 2008. The success is certainly due to the selection of artists. Ayo, Ben Harper, Jacques Higelin… diverse artists who have performed in previous years.
For the 2009 edition, the Gaou stage has continued its tradition of selecting notable artists. Motorhead, Bernard Lavilliers, Tryo, numerous bands that will perform in the coming days. Once again, the principle is to gather several bands in one evening. An intelligent concept for concert enthusiasts and music lovers. Thus, Bénabar will appear alongside Archimède and Pauline on Thursday, July 23, 2009. The latter will also be present on Friday, July 24 at Colle sur Loup. Similarly, Tryo, Pep’s, and Manu Larrouy will also come together at Voix du Gaou on July 28.
