It is in their setting of LโEsplanade Saint โ Jaume, in the shadow of the ramparts of Old Antibes and a few meters from the famous Quai des Milliardaires, that from June 4 to 8, Les Voiles dโAntibes will host for their 19th edition, the most beautiful Traditional Yachts in the World for the opening of the 10th Edition of the Panerai Classic Yachts Challenge.
Organized at the very beginning of the season, Les Voiles dโAntibes โ Trophรฉe Panerai welcome each year a selection of the most beautiful Vintage Yachts (built before 1950), Classic Yachts (built before 1976) and Spirit of Tradition Yachts, as well as the Metric Classes (6, 8, and 12 MJI, Americaโs Cup competitors from 1958 to 1987), which have shaped, since the end of the 19th century, the great history of International Yachting and its values of fair play, solidarity, and respect.
Created in 1996, Les Voiles dโAntibes, are the first Regatta of the Panerai Classic Yachts Challenge, where adventure and luxury combine in a sporting and friendly tradition.
For most participants, this prestigious gathering represents the first major event of the Mediterranean season. Participants renew each year around a core group of legendary boats such as Moonbeam, Cambria, Mariquita, Mariska, Stormy Weather, Bona Fide, Halloweโen, Oiseau de Feu, Outlaw, Adria, Lulu, which have long been present at all the regattas.
In addition, each year, new boats appear on the circuit. They emerge from recent restorations or refurbishments. Antibes being the first big gathering of the season, it is an opportunity for all enthusiasts to come and appreciate the purity of the architectural lines, the deck plans, the harmony of the Gaff and Bermuda rigs, and the elegant ballet of the crews preparing their legendary sailing boats with passion and precision.
Appreciated for the quality of its regattas, along the 23 km of coastline between the bays of Antibes and Juan-les-Pins, Les Voiles dโAntibes โ Trophรฉe Panerai is undoubtedly one of the flagship events of the Mediterranean circuit.
As every year, the Village of Les Voiles dโAntibes offers back at the quay, a space for meetings and conviviality, where all the international crews comment and share every evening their maneuvers, their options, and the courses of the day for the greatest pleasure of the public, knowledgeable or novice, who can thus immerse themselves in this nautical culture.
