This Wednesday, November 21 at 3 p.m. at the Nice Opera, the children and adolescents of the Forum Nice Nord are presenting to their peers a show on the theme of the Francophonie: “Which FRANCOPHONIEยฐ 2009 Circus the French!”


droits_enfants_nice-3.jpg This show is the result of the work done over a year by 70 children and youths from Nice Nord, aged 6 to 18, around the theme of the Francophonie and its values: respect for gender equality, discovery of the originality and diversity of Francophone cultures.

These young people were accompanied by an artist in commedia dellโ€™arte and professional facilitators. They then wrote, prepared, and directed the show. This action was partially funded by the Metropolis Nice Cรดte d’Azur within the framework of the Urban Social Cohesion Contract.

On a reinvented circus ring, the audience will discover, often in a humorous way, the sporting and cultural challenges of the Francophonie Games and especially the richness and history of the French language.

The city of Nice, around forty associative and institutional partners, UNICEF, and the CAF have been celebrating children’s rights since Wednesday, November 14.

More than 40 events aimed at young people from Nice have been organized for the great pleasure of children and their families: exhibitions, writing workshops, creative, artistic activities, entertainment, storytelling, meetings, conferences, debates, quizzes, readings, showsโ€ฆ

On the occasion of the show, each child will receive a “I love the Francophonie Games” bracelet. They will also be able to sign a banner in the colors and name of the “Francophonie Games”. This will be displayed within the Games village next September.
