The winners of the competition received their awards yesterday at the Mediterranean University Center, in the presence of Éric Ciotti.
The President of the General Council of the Alpes-Maritimes was accompanied by the President of the Chamber of Crafts, as well as several elected officials from various municipalities in the department.
After a speech of thanks and congratulations by Nelly Aurouze, the president of the “Meilleur Ouvrier de France” association of the Alpes-Maritimes, Éric Ciotti spoke to congratulate the apprentices. He expressed that he was ‘convinced of the bright future awaiting them’, given the need and shortage of workforce in these fields (25% youth unemployment).
The president of the General Council explained that last year, 500 apprenticeship contracts were signed.
The 130 medalists are spread across 29 different trades, and 26 of them will represent the department at the regional level. The ceremony then gave way to the presentation of medals.
