Surrounded by around fifty activists, the president of the LGBT Center, the friendly (and stylish) Erwann Le Hô, took advantage of the New Year wishes presentation to give a brief overview of the past year and to look ahead to the coming one.
Thanks to the support of the municipality – as highlighted by councilor Mathy Diouf with her usual eloquence – the role of the LGBT Center has been strengthened, especially in providing material and psychological support to homosexual, bisexual, and transgender individuals and defending acquired rights.
“Anyone who wants to push us backward will find us in their way,” declared Erwann Le Hô.
After the law for marriage equality, the law concerning assisted reproductive technology (ART) will be the focus of political and parliamentary debate this year. LREM deputy Alexandra Valette-Ardisson, who was present, pledged her full support.
For 2019, the LGBT Center will be particularly active in the field of social engagement, with a Seniors Club scheduled to foster connections among former activists.
The LGBT Center, which brings together 23 associations actively involved in various ways within the territory, will continue to play its role as a defender of rights and a promoter of ideas for a constructive purpose.
