After its official launch on September 19 in Paris and several stops in Rennes, Valenciennes, Reims, and Le Havre, the 6th rendezvous of the Women’s World Cup Trophy Tour is making a stop in Nice, this Monday, October 2!

On this occasion, Christian Estrosi, alongside Fatma Samoura and Brigitte Henriques, will officially unveil the Trophy to the people of Nice at 3 PM at Villa Masséna.

Nice is therefore ready to take up the challenge of the 2019 Women’s World Cup!

Hosting the 2019 World Cup is a tremendous opportunity to promote women’s football in the wake of OGC Nice, whose women’s section is in the 3rd division.

After experiencing significant growth in France, women’s football has increased from 53,000 registered members in 2011 to 165,000 in 2017. The 2019 objective: to reach 200,000 registered members thanks to the World Cup effect.
