In light of taking advantage of the opportunity offered by the creation of the Métropole Nice Côte d’Azur on January 1, 2012, and to remain responsive to its environment, the JCE Pays Niçois has decided to change its corporate name and becomes the Jeune Chambre Economique Métropole Niçoise (JCEMN).
Why is the JCE Pays Niçois changing its name?
The Métropole Nice Côte d’Azur was created to pool resources and promote solidarity between municipalities, which aligns with the values of the JCE. This change will allow the JCEL to reposition itself at the center of the economic and political news of its territory and the region while highlighting the particularities of each municipality.
The JCE Métropole Niçoise will thus be more representative of its territory, a territory that was already redefined in 2005 following the creation of the CANCA then the CUNCA. This is how municipalities that were not part of the Comté de Nice were added, such as Eze, Cagnes Sur Mer, Vence, St. Laurent du Var, etc. The municipalities integrated into the Métropole Nice Côte d’Azur have, since the creation of the JCEL, been attached to its territorial attribution, which further legitimizes the modification of its corporate name.
The territory of the JCE Métropole Niçoise:
The cantons of: Cagnes sur Mer Centre – Carros – Contes – L’Escarène – Guillaumes – Lantosque – Levens – Nice 13 (Falicon, La Trinité, Saint André de la Roche) – Puget-Théniers – Roquebillière – Roquestéron – Saint Etienne de Tinée – Saint Laurent du Var – Cagnes sur Mer Est – Saint Martin Vésubie – Saint Sauveur sur Tinée – Vence – Villars sur Var – Villefranche sur Mer.
“Between sea and mountains, the former ‘Pays’ has become a ‘Métropole’ which remains nonetheless Niçoise!” Cécile Hallier, President of the JCEMN.
