The youth of Nice speaks out.

Latest News

From March 29 to April 30, the city hall is launching a consultation for 15-25-year-olds to better understand their needs and expectations in their daily lives. This will be followed by a reflection phase, then a presentation of the results, as well as an announcement of future measures.

Nice, an aging city? Stereotype! In 2014, according to INSEE figures, the 15-25 age group in Nice was close to 50,000 people, not counting all the young people from neighboring communes.

Christian Estrosi, the mayor of the city, wants “this youth to have even more influence on our public policies.” To this end, the municipality is establishing a dialogue between Nice and its young residents for a month to build the future together.

An action in three steps

From March 29 to April 30, the capital of the French Riviera is opening the debate through a questionnaire titled “Influence your city”. Aimed at Niรงois aged 15 to 25, this form seeks to better define their needs and expectations in the city. To encourage young people to complete this survey, many prizes will be up for grabs (tickets to concerts by Louane, Maรฎtre Gims, or MC Solaar, seats for the France/Italy football match, tickets for the Nice Jazz Festival, etc.).

After the discussions, it will be time for reflection. “I will ensure that young people contribute to the follow-up and the evaluation,” assures Christian Estrosi. Finally, at the start of the 2018 school year, the Nice city hall will announce the results of the questionnaire as well as the upcoming measures. “We will do everything to ensure that our public policies meet all aspirations on social, economic, sports, and cultural levels,” concludes the mayor of the Azurean city.
