A few weeks after the controversy in the azure capital, the circus illegally set up this time on a plot of land in Saint-Laurent-du-Var.
In open conflict with the Nice city hall after an illegal installation at the end of February, the Zavatta-Muller circus had come to an agreement with the prefecture and the city of Menton to settle there. After traveling through the department for a month, the circus set up on a plot in Saint-Laurent-du-Var. However, this installation in the Point du Jour district was denounced by the Mayor of the commune Joseph Segura and the Mayor of Nice and President of the Metropolis, Christian Estrosi.
A complaint for fraudulent maneuvers was filed, as the circus had requested authorization to occupy a parcel belonging to Côte d’Azur Habitat while impersonating an agent from the commune’s city hall. According to Joseph Segura, the Muller family had made a request to him 15 days ago, which he had refused. Upon arriving on site, the Mayor of Saint-Laurent and Anthony Borré, first deputy of Nice and Vice-president of the Metropolis, were insulted by the circus’s managers and leaders.
Christian Estrosi announced on Twitter that measures will follow these verbal assaults:
This seems to be the beginning of a new episode of the Zavatta-Muller Circus in the Nice Côte d’Azur Metropolis. The first act in Nice lasted a week, but it is clear that local officials will want to resolve the matter much more quickly this time.
