“What do you know about a girl like me?” is a play written and directed by an emerging young author: Jean-Marc Weber.
This powerful play, with a finely crafted script, explores the relationship between a mother and her daughter navigating troubled waters, filled with avoidance and unspoken words. Having spent ten years in Quebec, Valérie returns “home” and reunites with her mother. They are complete opposites. While her mother plays her life on a comedy score, her daughter’s life resembles more of a drama.
A noir atmosphere, a backdrop of amnesia, a game of backgammon, a flute tune, unfulfilled dreams, and stifled ambitions are all ingredients that will lead the audience into a subtle and puzzling game until an unexpected conclusion.
Jean-Marc Weber is a playwright; he lives and works in Antibes and has written about fifteen plays and adaptations.
“The Odyssey of the Artists” is a company created in September 2004, initially for the promotion of a traveling show from port to port on a theater-boat. Since then, it has focused on the dramatic works of Jean-Marc Weber.
