Theater Workshop “The Inner Monologue” Instructor: Jean-Louis Russo
Inner Monologue: a stylistic device used in novels, theater, or opera that features the flow of a character’s inner thoughts or the art of “Loading” an actor on stage.
Improvisation based on the themes of the theater scene allows exploring its various ramifications and enriching the actors’ imagination while nurturing their inner monologue.
This creative passage broadens the performance significantly when the actor returns to the interpretation of the work.
Each participant will receive a scene at the beginning of the session, which they will work on for three days with a partner.
- The “Scales”: breathing, expanding vocal range, work in space to develop bodily imagination, and physical letting go
– Emotions: to find sincerity, the “true performance”
About Jean-Louis RUSSO:
Graduated from the conservatory with honors in the Master class. Then trained at the Russian theater school with I. Promptova, P. Chiributa, M. Kroutov, A. Vassiliev, Nathalia Zvereva. An instructor since 2004, he leads workshops and theater courses for various audiences.
