For the first time, the Grasse theater concludes its season with a show created by the 2009/2011 class of the Piste d’Azur Regional Center for Circus Arts…
Demoiselles en piste croisées is the final stage of the creative work of the professional circus artists’ training at Piste d’Azur.
A show that speaks of the intimate and intertwined confessions of eight young ladies: from the most burlesque to the most fierce, from the distressing to the moving, they question their desires and the meaning to give to their lives.
On the crossing paths of what could be their dreamed daily life, each tells a bit about herself, each reveals or pretends to reveal herself. Little inside stories, heartaches, blatant delights, fragile exhibitions, guilty pleasures, love sorrows, and frivolous happiness.
There is everything, maybe even lies, little stories made up entirely, little pieces of accordion songs, bursts of microphone voices, bodies stretched in the arms of passing time…
On these fragments of the young ladies’ lives, instantaneous starry dreams, rests the gaze… of a man.
On their tightrope, their Chinese pole, their swinging trapeze, as clowns, equilibrists, acrobats, musicians, singers, they make us laugh, cry, reflect… and at the end, the spectators will be able to discover the new 2011-12 season of the Grasse theater!
