Théo Pourchaire will participate in the young driver endurance test with Team Peugeot TotalEnergies. The test will take place in Bahrain on November 3.
It’s official, Théo Pourchaire will be back on the tracks, this time behind the wheel, on November 3. Since 2015, the endurance champion (WEC) has been organizing rookie tests (young driver, editor’s note), and the Grassois will be part of it this year. It will be an opportunity for the driver to drive the 2024 PEUGEOT 9X8 Hypercar from Team Peugeot TotalEnergies. Two tests will take place on the same day and will last several hours. Théo Pourchaire will be alongside his compatriot Clément Novalak, an endurance driver in ELMS, for this test.
Olivier Jansonnie, Technical Director at Team Peugeot TotalEnergies, stated: “We have selected two different driver profiles. Théo has an impressive track record and is recognized as one of the hopefuls in single-seaters.” Théo Pourchaire expressed his excitement about this opportunity: “This will be an entirely new experience for me since it’s the first time I will drive an endurance car, a hypercar […] I can’t wait to discover the WEC.”
As for the future, there is still no official announcement, although he hinted in a podcast on RMC Sport that he is having several discussions for a seat, whether in Formula 1 with Stake F1 Team, in Indycar, or in WEC.
