Tonight, the Chickpea Theater located in Old Nice will host the โcagadesโ (local slang for jokes or gaffes) of one of the rare 100% Nissart comedians, Thierry Lagalla.
But who is this maker of “pantaรฏ” (dreams or daydreams)?
When you meet Thierry Lagalla, you first meet the man, and only afterwards does the artist appear.
Proudly bearing the coat of arms of his tribe of Bosinaires, depicting his instrument of choice, the megaphone, Thierry is one of those all-too-rare Niรงois artists who have managed to break into the national world of traditional culture with our cultural traditions. Of course, who does not know Noรซlle Perna with her Niรงoise character Mado, or who does not hear the tirades of a younger and wilder than ever Richard Cairashi.
But here, we enter a different universe where Nissart is explored, studied, and โpantaรฏedโ (dreamt up) for a result that could be described as surprising or even explosive. Long before and far from โReality TV,โ itโs about reality on TV that Thierry concocts, and we strongly invite you to discover a large part of his works on his website.
An avalanche of cagades flavored with โtantiflesโ (potatoes), fish soup, and socca. In short, a good time to spend around a good aperitif, some fine olives, and a couple of slices of pissaladiรจre.
Of course, it should be noted, for those who have never seen him (because if you have, you must remember him) that Thierry Lagalla is one of the founders of the Zou Mai calendar as well as one of the inspirers of the Independent Carnival of St Roch and the Port.
But go catch Thierry… From Luxembourg, to Paris, passing through Nevers… finally, itโs around Riquier or in the old town that you might bump into the rare Nissart bird who awaits you tonight at 8:30 PM for a video projection and a chat among friends.
