Ultra-fast charging outlets in the South, that’s a first! In Nice, at the Indigo parking lot in Massรฉna, there are now six.
On Monday, June 24, the first ultra-fast charging station for electric vehicles was inaugurated. It is located right in the heart of Nice, at Massรฉna.
The company Electra, along with Indigo parking, has deployed these ultra-fast outlets in only two other cities: Paris and Mulhouse. In the center of Nice, this “extremely high power” charging will be of public utility. Convenient for the average citizen, its speed will also attract those who use their vehicle for work purposes: taxis, couriers, etc.
Charging your electric car in 30 minutes
Pierre Bonnabaud, regional director of the Indigo group, is pleased with this inauguration that arrives “just before the season”.
The outlets will be immediately useful for vacationers who wish to recharge their car quickly: “The ultra-fast charge has a power of 160k kW compared to 20kW for standard charging”, explains Vincent Miller, Managing Director of INDIGO France.
In other words, no more 8-hour charging; the ultra-fast outlet charges your vehicle in 30 minutes. For Vincent Miller, electric is worth it, even more so with the installation of these ultra-fast charges. 49 cents, or 59 during peak hours, per kilowatt-hour.
Thanks to Indigo parking lots that offer 40-minute parking, the cost of a full charge is advantageous compared to a thermal car. “100 km in a thermal car is 12 Euros. 100 km in electric, at home, is 4 Euros; here: 7.50 Euros“, he demonstrates.
How to charge your car with an ultra-fast outlet?
With the Electra app, just select the parking lot and your ultra-fast charging spot. At the Indigo barrier, it will open automatically.
Alternatively, you can pay with a credit card or with a charging pass.
