This weekend, Nice is hosting its 2011 Archaeology Days.

Latest News

This new national annual event aims to raise awareness among a large and diverse audience about archaeological heritage, known and to be discovered, as well as contemporary archaeology: its professions, its disciplines, its methods.

archeo_nice.jpg These days will be an opportunity to discover or rediscover the history of Nice with a fresh perspective, through numerous visits and conferences, from new angles and in original conditions.

Several locations in Nice will be particularly highlighted:
The Terra Amata Museum of Human Paleontology,
The Archaeological Museum of Nice-Cemenelum,
The amphitheater and the archaeological site of Nice-Cemenelum.

With the help of several specialists and professionals, especially the archaeologists from the City of Nice’s services, it will be possible to discover a sometimes mysterious, always fabulous past through various locations and collections, in order to better understand the city’s treasures.
