Thomas Gheerbrant has been promoted to the position of General Director at NICEXPO and will oversee the ID WEEK-END 2026 exhibition with the objective of embedding Nice’s events sector in a dynamic of innovation.

The ID WEEK-END exhibition, a key event for tourism and leisure in the South region, is changing direction. For its sixth edition, scheduled for April 17, 18, and 19, 2026, the event will come under the responsibility of NICEXPO. This non-profit association from Nice, known for its events established on the Cรดte d’Azur, is now the owner of the exhibition and aims to inject a new dynamic into it.

To achieve this, NICEXPO is opening a new chapter by welcoming a new general director, Thomas Gheerbrant. His arrival coincides with an important stage: the takeover of the ID WEEK-END exhibition, the premier tourism and leisure exhibition in the South region. This signals both renewal and continuity for Nice’s events sector.

For the new general director, this event symbolizes NICEXPO’s mission: to create connections between the economy, the territory, and its residents. “In order to act as a conduit for the key sectors of the Cรดte d’Azur’s economy, to foster more exchanges and events while supporting the creativity of the local area, NICEXPO aims to organize increasingly creative exhibitions,” he explains. This vision is aligned with a strategy of openness and cooperation.

The 2026 exhibition will explore “the range of today’s and tomorrow’s tourism trends, with short and attractive formats allowing an exploration of the entire Cรดte d’Azur territory without forgetting the cross-border areas.” For Thomas Gheerbrant, the event must reflect the diversity of the territory and encourage discovery, both locally and regionally.

The takeover of ID WEEK-END by NICEXPO is the result of a strategic reflection led by its president, Marc Ippolito. Thus, the association strengthens its role as a promoter of the region’s influence. “In total coherence with its social mission and its commitment to defending the general and collective interest to enhance and promote the attractiveness of the Cรดte d’Azur territory, the takeover of ID WEEK-END is a dream opportunity for NICEXPO to participate in the development of the tourism sector while forging new connections,โ€ says Marc Ippolito.

According to him, Thomas Gheerbrant’s role will be crucial in this new phase. The leader arrives with a vision focused on the cross-sectional nature of projects and adapting to the public’s expectations. By bringing together local economic and cultural forces, he aims to consolidate NICEXPO’s role as a facilitator of collective initiatives.

Towards a More Audience-Centric Exhibition

Under his leadership, ID WEEK-END will maintain its general public format and festive dimension while offering new experiences. The exhibition will feature more than 80 stands and 175 entities represented, across 3,800 mยฒ of exhibition space. The public will be able to attend demonstrations, workshops, and initiations. The event caters to all profiles: families, young people, seniors, nature lovers, or thrill-seekers.

For Thomas Gheerbrant, this diversity is the key to success. The goal is to answer the simple and universal question: “what are we doing this weekend?” The event will offer ideas for trips, cultural, sports, or gastronomic activities. It will also invite a (re)discovery of the region from a more sustainable and participative angle.

The general director wants to make ID WEEK-END “a laboratory of opportunities for the Cรดte d’Azur region, and a spearhead of tomorrow’s tourism,โ€ according to NICEXPO. In a context where tourism is reinventing itself, he is betting on short and interactive formats, centered on proximity and friendliness.

The arrival of Thomas Gheerbrant marks a desire for modernization. He intends to maintain NICEXPO’s associative spirit while strengthening its economic and territorial impact. His mission: to unite, experiment, and support local actors towards new forms of events.

ID WEEK-END 2026 will be the first visible step of this orientation. Three days to discover, exchange, and share around the riches of the territory. Three days to experience new forms of tourism and leisure, in the heart of Nice.
