The congress for the reunification of the Radicals will be held in Paris this December 9th.

Separated since 1972* into two parties, the left-wing Radical Republicans (PRG) and the right-wing, known as Valoisiens, have made contact this summer to merge their two formations. Why erase the left-right divide now after 45 years of opposition?
The election of Emmanuel Macron in the spring, and his claim of being neither left nor right, is the trigger.

For the proponents, this reunification should be more than just the sum of two political formations but – in a political landscape where traditional parties are dividing and fragmenting – the start of a novel and hopeful dynamic for France.

While the principle of reunification was voted by a very large majority and will be on the agenda for this congress, the political conditions for this and the choice of the team that will lead it have sparked debate.

Evidently, this congress will be very useful to clarify all of this before the historic moment that will be the meeting of all the Radicals. Crucial choices will be made for those who have the imperative mission to succeed in this reunification.
