What can be done? Sometimes, instead of looking for complex solutions, it is better to keep it simple and have a bit of creativity and… common sense.

In the context of road safety, Charles Ange Ginesy has decided to draft a bill aimed at maximizing the chances of survival in the event of a road accident, preventing conscious passengers from being unable to exit their vehicles.

The Deputy has decided to draft a bill co-signed by 31 parliamentarians, aimed at improving the survival chances of road accident victims. It is difficult to escape one’s vehicle in an emergency, being trapped by the seatbelt and the vehicle’s windows.

Thus, Charles Ange Ginesy proposes equipping vehicles with a seatbelt cutter and a window breaker.

According to him, “this survival equipment is incredibly easy to handle, allowing everyone to use it without difficulty.”

This equipment would allow drivers and passengers to exit the vehicle on their own or even to provide assistance and help from outside with the equipment of another vehicle. Some insurance companies, local authorities, and even some U.S. government agencies have already chosen to equip their vehicle fleets.

Charles Ange Ginesy emphasizes that its modest cost “can save lives, especially in mountainous areas, where the risk is amplified by the loss of visibility and the danger of falling into a ravine.”
