The girls defended themselves well last weekend. These first steps in competition have allowed them to tighten the team a bit more. This weekend, it’s the boys’ turn to enter the championship! And for this, they’re heading to Rennes and Montpellier!

Rennes, the Breton city, known for its football club, its Tagada Jones, its galette-saucisse, and its parlementin de Rennes. However, it’s not at all for these reasons that ANICES’ first men’s Torball team is heading to Brittany. No, no, the people of Nice are traveling to the city of Malika Ménard (Miss France 2010, ed.) to compete in the first leg matches of the men’s second division Torball.
Better than last year
Last year, the Azuréens managed to maintain their position during the second leg. This year, they will try not to find themselves in the same situation as last season. Pascal Quenoi, Bernard Berger, Jean-Philippe Lafaille, and Sébastien Filippini will do their utmost to give themselves breathing space for the second leg. Their coaches, Karolina Lazarewicz and Mikaël Maunier, will be watching closely to implement the best possible strategies and reach their goal: staying up!
The reserve team is heading to Montpellier. Philippe Fellenz, Kadri Sadiku, Claude Bellone, and Henri Dumont will play the 6 matches of the first leg of D4.
Return to the women’s championship
Last Saturday, the women of Nice made their first steps in competition. And these first steps started with a fall against Marseille (5 – 10). But the girls picked themselves up and followed with 2 wins, including one excellent performance, and 4 narrow defeats. Carole, Sandrine, Laurence, Emma, Elia, and Christelle finished in the penultimate place, but the matches played are encouraging. Laurence reflects on the day: “Saturday, we shared some intense moments together and also had to support each other in defeat. In the end, we obtained a disappointing ranking, but our group managed to stay united, and that’s the team spirit.”
And nearly 300 spectators came to support the players: a true record turnout! They were also able to discover the next generation of Nice Torball during the children’s team’s demonstration at the end of the day.
