The men’s and women’s teams from Anices participated last weekend in the international Waasland tournament in Belgium.
It was a weekend full of surprises!
For the girls, it was a big comeback for Laurence Bertrand after 3 years off the field, for Laurie-Anne Gonzales it was her first starting position in a tournament. Sandrine Filippini needs no introduction. This team is coached by Sébastien Filippini.
For the guys, the N3 team was without Jérôme Delplanque, sidelined due to an injury, along with François Dumont, Jean-Philippe Lafaille, and Olivier Rollin, not forgetting the player-coach, Cédric Bouchet!
There was quite the turnout for this tournament: from France, the two teams from Nice (women’s and men’s); from Italy: L’Aquila (men’s) and Trento (men’s); from Belgium: Waasland 1 and 2 (men’s) and Waasland (women’s); from Germany: Magdeburg and Augsburg (men’s) and Langenhagen (women’s); from Switzerland: Glarus (women’s and men’s) and from the Netherlands: Xinix (women’s)!
And the surprises were downright pleasant, with an excellent team spirit and perfect cohesion leading to a second-place finish!
“Congratulations to them for this unexpected but oh-so-fantastic journey!” commented coach Sébastien Filippini.

For the guys, it will be shorter. There are days when if it’s not meant to be, it just isn’t!
The team bonded, played fairly well, but had little success in scoring.
Nothing went as planned, with many shots hitting the posts, luck was not on the side of the young eagles.
It should be noted that the referees present named Cédric Bouchet as the best player of the tournament, congratulations to him.
