Here are hence two events that will henceforth be offered to tourism professionals in the Riviera:
– “The Tourism@ Meetings”: a cycle of technology workshops and exchanges of best practices for tourism professionals of the 06 (Alpes-Maritimes) department.
– “The Tourism@ Awards”: an annual international competition aimed at promoting and enhancing innovative technologies applied to the tourism industry.
The first “Tourism@ Meeting” will allow tourism companies in the Alpes-Maritimes to find answers and benefit from the best uses of the internet and commercial performance applied to their activity. It will take place on Tuesday, January 22, 2008, from 3 PM to 7 PM at the Nice Côte d’Azur Airport (Business Center – Terminal 1).
Highlights of these meetings:
– 3:15 PM: Opening and signing of the partnership between Dominique ESTEVE, President of the Nice Côte d’Azur CCI, and Jean-Pierre HENRY, President of Telecom Valley for the organization of the 2008 Tourism@ Awards.
– 3:15 PM: Conference “The use of the web by internet users in the tourism sector” by E. Fillia, Director of NTIC of the Nice Office of Tourism and Congress.
– 4:30 PM – 5:15 PM: Workshop No. 1: Key steps to launch a website; Workshop No. 2: Make the internet a true tool for commercial development.
– 5:30 PM to 5:45 PM: Free exchange with the speakers.
– 5:45 PM to 6:30 PM: Workshop No. 3: First steps in internet marketing; Workshop No. 4: Feedback – focus on the web approach of tourism companies.
– 6:30 PM to 7 PM: Closing cocktail.

Since 2000, the international event Tourism@®, initiated by the Chamber of Commerce and Industry Nice Côte d’Azur as well as the Telecom Valley Association, has evolved over the course of 7 editions to better meet the needs of tourism professionals in the 06 department and to promote the most innovative technological projects of the global tourism industry. To further benefit the Riviera companies from the experience gained through Tourism@, a new format is being launched in 2008:
– “The Tourism@ Meetings” organized by the Nice Côte d’Azur CCI, targeting tourism professionals in the department, on best practices in the use of ICT in the tourism industry, will be held three times a year.
Throughout 2008, the Nice Côte d’Azur CCI, in the context of developing the activity of companies in the 06, will strengthen its role in facilitating and supporting tourism professionals in the use of ICT.
– “The Tourism@ Awards” will take place once a year, in the form of an international competition, aimed at promoting and valuing innovative technologies applied to the tourism industry.
From 2008, Tourism@ becomes, more than just a unique event in Europe, four times of exchanges and meetings throughout the year, a bridge between tomorrow’s technological innovation and the development of today’s practices.
