Towards an Extension of the Health Pass

Latest News

In light of an improvement in the Covid-19 epidemic situation in France, President Emmanuel Macron has expressed his willingness to “lift certain constraints” in “areas where the virus is spreading more slowly,” without providing a timeline.

On this matter, a draft law to extend the health pass beyond November 15 “is being developed and will be presented on October 13 at the Council of Ministers,” Prime Minister Jean Castex’s entourage announced to AFP on Monday.

Since the implementation of the health pass, the government claims positive vaccination figures, with the milestone of 50 million first-dose vaccinations reached on Friday.

The epidemic continues to decline, with 91 people having died from Covid on Monday, according to the latest report from Public Health France.

8,845 patients are still hospitalized, including 373 admitted since the previous day. In total, 1,805 people are receiving treatment in intensive care. 1,515 new cases have been detected, a very low number due to the closure of laboratories over the weekend.
