To improve the flow and safety of traffic on RD 6202 during the return trips of some Sundays and public holidays, at the request of Mr. Christian Estrosi, Deputy Minister of Territorial Development, president of the General Council of Alpes-Maritimes, a system will be implemented to continuously provide two lanes of traffic in the direction from Digne to Nice, between Baus-Roux and La Manda, on Tuesdays, May 1st and May 8th.
This system, managed jointly by the General Council and the gendarmerie, will be operational from 4 PM until the end of the traffic peak.
Traffic will be regulated as follows:
– Traffic on two lanes in the direction from Digne to Nice and on one lane in the direction from Nice to Digne, between Baus-Roux and La Manda.
– Prohibition of left-turn movements from or to RD 6202, from the Castagniers intersection to the La Manda bridge, these movements being redirected to the Vallon de Saint-Blaise intersection for the direction toward Nice and to the La Manda intersection for other directions.
– Prohibition of overtaking, in the direction from Nice to Digne, between the La Manda bridge and Baus-Roux.
– Speed limit of 70 km/h along the entire section of RD 6202 between Baus-Roux and the La Manda bridge.
In case of rain, the system will not be implemented for safety reasons.
To inform the users, the information will be broadcast on variable message signs and communicated to local radio stations.
The monitoring of traffic conditions will be carried out, in addition to the presence of the gendarmerie and agents of the General Council on the field, through two cameras installed by the General Council at La Mescla and Castagniers.
