Stranded on a couch, a barefoot man with an unkempt beard experiences what will be his final night. Just a few steps away, two clowns spy on him, mimic him: two grotesque and unpredictable characters who play at being philosophers, cook pasta, set up lanterns, and taunt him against a backdrop of Italian songs.

Two unbearable creatures who invite themselves into the midst of his solitude… But who is this man who, on this ultimate disenchanted night he’s granted himself, decides to let his past unfold? He is Cesare Pavese, poet, philosopher, and novelist who took his own life in 1950 in a hotel room in Turin. Director Joรซlle Cattino pays tribute to him and brings his poetic language to life in a touching and humorous performance that blends philosophy with triviality, poetry with clowning around.

An explosive and extremely delightful cocktail! A hymn to life offered to the audience in a playful and light-hearted manner: we rejoice, we are challenged too, and we leave feeling tenderhearted. In short, itโ€™s a treat.
