Exhibition at the Module until October 22, 2011. Meet on Wednesday, October 5 at 5:30 PM at the Module for a special and surprising encounter with the artist Edmond Baudoin.
For its second exhibition in 2011, the Module has chosen the illustrator and scriptwriter Baudoin.
Edmond Baudoin: “For a long time, my travels were limited to a distance of just fifty kilometers back and forth, from Nice to Villars sur Var. Back then, I could have written an essay on the uselessness of travel for understanding the world. And it is true that, from the doorstep, an observant person doesnโt have enough of a lifetime to see everything.
After turning forty, my work as a comic book author, which is far from a sedentary activity, took me all over the world, to Japan, Russia, Poland, Lebanon, Morocco, Romania, China, Sweden, Spain, Egypt, Quebec, Portugal, the USA, Cuba, Venezuela, the Netherlands, Chile, Germany, Belgium, Mexico, Switzerland, India.
What have I seen and learned from these travels? That the planet is vast, immense, despite planes and the internet making us believe it is a village, and also, that the river called ‘lโEspagnole’ which irrigates the orchards below Villars sur Var has nothing to envy to the mythical rivers talked about in the books of my childhood that indeed exist.”
