On Thursday, in front of the Arnaud Beltrame Training Center at Fort de la “Batterie Russe,” a memorial plaque will be installed in tribute to the Aude police officer who died in March 2018 after voluntarily taking the place of a hostage during the terrorist attack in Trèbes.
On this occasion, three customs officers from the Menton surveillance brigade will also be awarded the bronze medal for acts of courage and dedication following the arrest of an Italian smuggler in December 2018 in Nice Nord.
The ceremony will be held in the presence of Bernard GONZALEZ, Prefect of the Alpes-Maritimes, Christian ESTROSI, Mayor of Nice, and Philippe SAVARY, Regional Director of Customs for PACA Corsica.
