In 1977, the United Nations adopted a resolution inviting all countries to dedicate a day to celebrating women’s rights. Therefore, every year on March 8, millions of women and men highlight International Women’s Day around the world.
As part of this day, Christian Estrosi, Mayor of Nice and President of the Nice Côte d’Azur Metropolis, wanted to pay tribute to the elected women of the Metropolis and the six female mayors for their civic engagement and their work in the service of others in the most varied areas of life in our territory.
This day will be an opportunity to review the progress made in promoting gender equality, identify the challenges they must overcome in society, and consider the measures to improve their living conditions.
