A ceremony was held this afternoon at the Palais Nikaia to pay tribute to the seven victims of the tragic fire that occurred on the night of July 17 to 18 in the Moulins neighborhood.

The tragedy, of presumed criminal origin, devastated a building located at 38 Santoline Street. Seven members of the same family perished in this disaster. The city of Nice, at the request of the family’s relatives, organized this tribute in the presence of the grieving community of Nice.

At 3:30 PM, the ceremony began with the recitation of the surah “YA SIN”, a moving moment of contemplation for the many relatives and residents present. This surah, often recited at funerals, resonated in the hall, bringing some comfort to the wounded hearts.

Speeches then punctuated the ceremony. Family members of the deceased shared their grief and memories.

The emotion was palpable among the attendees, who gathered to honor the memory of the departed and support their loved ones through this ordeal.
