Every year, the City of Nice pays tribute to Torrin and Grassi, two communist activists who were arrested and hanged by the Nazis on July 7, 1944, at the entrance to Place Masséna.
Thus, on Sunday, July 7, a ceremony was held at the corner of Avenue Jean Médecin and Rue Hôtel des Postes and Rue de la Liberté* to lay wreaths in memory of these two martyrs.
This tribute served as an opportunity to remind all generations of past events and to prevent future ones by mobilizing to defend human dignity and peace.
